Men in Black III Trailer 2

Another trailer has been released for the upcoming Men in Black III. The initial trailer was relatively short and had a heavy focus on the ever sarcastic Will Smith. The latest trailer is longer, but the focus on Smith is still present. It does, however, give a lot more plot detail and more of an idea of what we can expect from the third film of the series.

History has been re-written, as Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) disappears from present day, leaving it up to Agent Jay (Smith) to go back to 1969 to find out what happened to him. Jay has only 24 hours to save his partner, who has now taken the form of Josh Brolin.

The initial trailer ended with Jay going back in time, but this time we’re shown a lot more of the antics that take place in 1969. The ‘space guns’ that Jay has become so fond of haven’t been invented yet, but a high-tech motorbike appears to make up for it. Oh, and Andy Warhol (played by funny man Bill Hader) is in on the alien secret. Who knew? There’s also the important plot point that wasn’t revealed in the first trailer: that Jay only has 24 hours so solve the problem otherwise he’ll be stuck there. Finally, we’re shown a glimpse of an invasion, with aliens somewhat similar to the machines that terrorised Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds. Sequels are always tricky territory; can Men in in Black III live up to the success of the original?

Men in Black III is released in UK cinemas on 25th May 2012.
