Noomi Rapace’
s rise to fame is nothing short of meteoric. Since her breakout role in The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo attracted attention in Hollywood, she has been courting offers from all over. She recently landed a role in Sherlock Holmes 2 and is rumoured to be starring alongside Jeremy Renner (who is also in the throws of a startling career boost) in a quirky action horror flick based on the Hansel and Gretel fairy-tale and produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s (The Other Guys) production company: Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
Now we can add another possible role to her future filmography. Deadline have reported that Rapace met with director Ridley Scott to discuss a possible role for her in his Alien prequels. She apparently “left a strong impression” on the respected old gent.
It’s also known that Scott has had discussions with Carey Mulligan (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) and plans to have talks with Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time). It seems to me however, that it’s Rapace that best typifies the example set by Sigourney Weaver throughout the Alien series as being a tough, no-nonsense chick who gets the job done. What do you think about the possibility of Rapace starring in the Alien prequels?
